Anwar’s 69th birthday celebration dedicated to his sacrifices

BY: ERMIZI MUHAMAD
SHAH ALAM, AUG 10: Although he is incarcerated due to political allegations against him, people should not forget the efforts and struggles of KEADILAN opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
At 69 years old, the leader continues to be kept behind iron bars to seemingly dampen his fight to free the people from Umno-Barisan Nasional Government’s regime.
But the Government’s malicious actions have not broken his fighting spirit to ensure Malaysia is governed by a Government that is transparent.
It is with this will that the people are urged to fully support his efforts and show solidarity by being in front of the Sungai Buloh prison the night of August 10, to commemorate his 69th birthday.
Starting at 8:30 pm, the programme will see a host of activities, including a video screening of Anwar’s arrest and the unjust defamation charges against him.

Supporters will also have the opportunity to deliver birthday wishes to him, and there will be song performances by groups of street musicians.
In addition, top leaders of political parties are expected to attend the former deputy prime minister’s birthday celebrations.
Leaders expected to be present include Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, KEADILAN Vice President Nurul Izzah Anwar, Tian Chua and RafiziRamli.
Other leaders include DAP Parliamentary Leader Lim Kit Siang, Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Zuraida Kamaruddin and Datuk Mahfuz Omar.
