SHAH ALAM, AUG 17: Stern action will be taken against trespassers involved in illegal dumping of rubbish at Alam Impian.
Local Government, Legalising Illegal Factories and New Village Development Exco Ean Yong Hian Wah said that Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) and Selangor Drainage and Irrigation Department (JPS) would take enforcement action.
“I am told that the dumpsite is run by a group of gangsters who are misusing the open area for dumping rubbish illegally. MBSA and JPS are taking action to close down the area, and the state government is undaunted,” he said to SelangorKini on August 15.
On August 5, Ean Yong visited the site along with KDEB Waste Management Sdn Bhd (KDEBWM) dan Hebat Abadi Sdn Bhd (HASB) officials.
HASB Acting General Manager Muzafar Mohamed had previously said that he estimated clean-up work could begin 60 days after receiving approval from the state government.
He said that it would cost at least RM2 million to clean up the 3 acre area that can accommodate 60,000 tons of rubbish.
