Dr Dr Haron Din passes away

SHAH ALAM, SEP 16: PAS spiritual leader Datuk Dr Haron Din passed away at Stanford Hospital, San Francisco, US, at 10:10 am Malaysian time.
His passing was confirmed by PAS Information Chief Nasaruddin Hassan through social media.
“At 10:10 am (Malaysian time), we received news that Tuan Guru Dato’ Dr Harun Din has returned to the lord at Stanford University US.
“May Allah swt show His mercy and bless the late Tuan Guru and accept him as one of His servants. Aameen Ya Rabbal A’lamin.”

Haron, 76, was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit since yesterday after being treated for heart problems at the hospital.
Haron left for the US a couple of days ago to for further treatment for his heart condition.
He underwent a heart bypass at the hospital on Apri 2, 2012.
Last March, he was admitted to the National Heart Institute after complaining of chest pains.
The late Dr Haron leaves behind his wife Datin Khatijah Din and five children.
He held the highest position in PAS after the death of Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.
He was active in the party since 1974 before being appointed as PAS Central Working Committee member (1975-1983).
He also served as PAS Central Information Chief, Syura Ulama Council member and PAS deputy spiritual leader.
