Party machinery ready, KEADILAN to focus on straight fights discussion

BY: ERMIZI MUHAMAD
GOMBAK, SEP 11: KEADILAN is preparing its party machinery to face the 14th General Election, said its Deputy President Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.
He said that the attention and focus of party machinery is to ensure that Umno-Barisan Nasional can be defeated and that the ruling mandate will be taken over by Opposition component parties.
However, the focus will also emphasise on close joint discussions with opposition partners to unite during the next general elections.
“We are ready at the grassroots, branch and state levels for any possibility that elections will be called soon.
“For this moment, we will continue with discussions with our opposition partners, Parti Bersatu and our relationship with PAS.
“The priority is to ensure that there will be straight fights and I am optimistic of this outcome,” he said.
He was commenting on a Bloomberg report that quoted an unnamed Umno division leader stating that general elections would be held early next year.
Until now, there has been no further information or comments from any high-ranking officials within Umno regarding the report.
Mohamed Azmin, who is also Dato’ Menteri Besar said unity among the opposition parties can still be achieved for the rakyat’s benefit.
“I think it can be achieved through discussions and consensus for the betterment of the rakyat and to bring about change at the national level,” he said.
