BY: ERMIZI MUHAMAD
BERA, OCT 3: The reception of 5,000 Felda settlers of the Jelajah 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) programme proves that the rural population demands that the present government reform itself.
KEADILAN Deputy President Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said that Felda settlers, who are synonymous with the Unmo-Barisan Nasional (BN), now dare to attend opposition programmes.
“This momentum makes us optimistic to push for change on the condition that the rakyat is brave enough to stand up and support change.
“Although Umno will do whatever it takes to defeat this challenge and change but they cannot stop history that is currently being created,” he said during his speech at the programme.
Also present was former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah and also opposition senior leaders.

The programme that took place at Simpang Kepayang was attended by youth and attracted locals.
Bera is regarded as an Umno stronghold and it is led by Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri who was chosen as a minister in Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s cabinet.
Mohamed Azmin, however, was optimistic that Felda settlers, especially those in Bera, would side with the opposition as a result of the various financial scandals connected to the prime minister.
“To implement change, the rakyat, and not ministers, should have power. Even the dignity of the country rests with in the hands of the rakyat,” he said.
