Bersih will not entertain Jamal’s cheap publicity

BY: ERMIZI MUHAMAD
SHAH ALAM, OCT 6: The Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (Bersih 2.0) maintains its stand to sue Sungai Besar Umno Division Chief Datuk Jamal Yunus who claimed the party is taken in by IS.
Bersih 2.0 Chairman Maria Chin Abdullah said that they do not need to entertain Jamal’s irresponsible actions but remain focused on continuing the party’s claim for a more transparent administration of the country.
“I do not want to respond and directly give him cheap publicity. I do not need to waste my time on trivial matters like this.
“We will continue to focus on our goals and claims. As for Jamal, we shall meet in court,” she said to SelangorKini.
She was commenting on Jamal’s actions of ripping the lawsuit letter by Bersih 2.0 and throwing it in the toilet.
It was certainly an embarrassment that Jamal’s media conference was hence held in a toilet in the Umno Selangor building in Shah Alam on October 5.

At the same time, Maria questioned Umno’s credibility in producing a gangster-like leader with such a mentality.
“I just have no words to describe his actions. It’s just that the rakyat can think for themselves: How can a Datuk among the Umno members behave in such a way.
“Does Umno create gangsters like Jamal?” she asked.
Maria had demanded that Jamal apologise within 48 hours, for claiming that Bersih had anything to do with the IS militant group.
However, Jamal refused; saying he has credible sources backing the claim.
