SHAH ALAM, OCT 24:  Five cafeterias will be open at the Selangor Public Library (PPAS). The plan will see Hijrah participants running the cafes in the near future.
Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Mansoor Othman said that the cafeteria will serve as a pilot project to other PPAS.
He said, the cafeterias will operate in Rawang, Ampang, Gombak and Sepang.

“We will choose eligible Hijrah candidates. The menu will also be determined by the Hijrah candidates, so as not to disturb their learning process.
“Similarly, prices should be reasonable so that parents are not financially burdened.  The business should also not run at a loss.”
Mansoor said that this new concept is introduced to facilitate students’ revision and to ease parents’ financial burdens.
“I have seen this concept in China, and it can be introduced in Malaysia.
“In addition to applying knowledge, it also highly guarantees safety. Students can stay in the library until late afternoon,” he said.
He said this would be expanded over time according to appropriate PPAS locations.
