RM427.9 million for operational expenditure

SHAH ALAM, OCT 31: The Selangor state government has allocated RM429.7 million for operational expenditure, Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali announced.
He said that RM543.16 million was allocated for services and supplies, while RM608.11 million was allocated for administration and fixed payments while RM52.49 million was for other expenses.

“The increase in the estimated operational expenditure of the state government for 2017 is to cover the annual salary increase for state employees following the rationalisation of the public service skim involving an allocated RM20.3 million.
“Second, the replacement of the coloured text book scheme for Year One to Year Three students in Selangor’s religious schools involve an allocation of RM7 million.
“Besides that, RM10 million is allocated to the maintenance of coastal barriers, rivers and water retention ponds, while the total for the free first 20 cubic metres of water programme amounts to RM13.2 million,” he said when tabling the 2017 Selangor Budget at the State Legislative Assembly on October 31.
Mohamed Azmin said RM150 million was also allocated for the HIJRAH programme, old water pipe replacement project, solid waste management programme and river development and rehabilitation projects in Selangor.
“This budget will bring direct benefits for the rakyat’s prosperity and create multiple effects for economic activities,” he said.
