Whale’s skeleton returns for a merrier Agrofest 2016

SHAH ALAM, OCT 21: A whale’s skeleton found stranded in Pulau Carey in 2005 will be back on display to the local community in Kuala Langat.
The skeletal remains of the ”Balaenoptera borealis’ whale, measuring 12.8 metres long and 2.6 metres wide, is part of an exhibition listed on the 2016 Selangor Agrofest Programme at Dataran Pantai Morib from October 20.
Infrastructure, Public Amenities, Agricultural Modernisation and Agro-Based Industries Exco Zaidy Abdul Talib targeted over 50,000 visitors and cash sales of beyond RM250,000.

“Themed SmartAgro@SmartSelangor, this year focuses on the concept of modern fertigation technologies, farming concepts via Artificial Insemination (AI) and the use of drones in agriculture.
“The exhibitIon is also held in appreciation of farmers, breeders and fishermen in Selangor,” he said.
The 2016 Selangor Agrofest, held for the sixth time since 2011, is an annual event that brings together various exhibitions related to agriculture, farming, agro-based products and other agricultural products.
In addition, the exhibition by the Selangor Veterinary Services Department provides an opportunity for visitors to see various types of livestock, pets and also the mobile veterinary clinic.
More than 100 retail sites are provided to help local entrepreneurs achieve more revenue through the sale of frozen foods, snacks, herbal drinks and seedlings.
