Maria Chin freed after 11-day detention

SHAH ALAM, NOV 28: BERSIH 2.0 Chairman Maria Chin Abdullah was released from police detention after being held for 11 days beginning November 18.
Her release was confirmed by BERSIH 2.0 through a brief tweet on its Twitter account that read: “Maria freed!”
Maria had been previously detained during a raid on the BERSIH 2.0 office at Petaling Jaya before being brought to the Petaling Jaya police headquarters, a day before the peaceful Bersih 5 gathering on November 19.

She was investigated under the Security Offenses (Special Measures) Act 2012 (SOSMA) based on a discovery of a document.
She had also been previously investigated under Section 124c of the Penal Code for activities detrimental to parliamentary democracy.
