4,400 civil servants to benefit from 3S

SHAH ALAM, NOV 17: A total of 4,400 civil servants are expected to benefit from the Saringan Sihat Selangor (3S) 2016 programme with an allocation of RM291,500.
Health, Welfare, Women and Family Development Exco Dr Daroyah Alwi said civil servants will have the opportunity to undergo five types of free health screening tests.

“If these tests were done privately, each would cost around RM60 but we are offering them for free.
“After examination, participants will receive their test results by mail and will be asked to consult their medical practitioner in the event that any disease is detected,” she told reporters.
Earlier, she had launched the Saringan Sihat Selangor 2016 programme at State Secretariat Building foyer on November 17.
Daroyah said the programme, which jointly organised with the University of Selangor (UNISEL), will also be opened to public next year.
“We will implement it through the State Legislative Assembly service offices in their respective areas,” she said.

3S offers free health screening including tests for lipid profile, glucose, renal function, liver function and prostate cancer screening for men.
Participants must be 30 years and above, while participants for prostate cancer tests must be at least 35 years old.
Other requirements are that participants are free from any family history of infectious diseases, not on any long-term medication and free of infectious diseases.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by UNISEL Student Affairs Deputy Vice Chancelor Prof Dr Shaharuddin Badaruddin and State Economic Planning Unit Local Authorities Section Deputy Director Mas Sakdah Kamaruzzaman.
The programme will be brought to the 12 local authorities and 9 District and Land Offices throughout Selangor, starting November 21.
