Highest increase in fuel prices

SHAH ALAM, NOV 1: The new price for RON 95 is fixed at RM1.95 per litre, RON97 at RM2.30 per litre and diesel at RM1.90 per litre starting from November 1.
The increase of 15sens for each type of fuel starts from midnight November 1.
Thus, the new price sets a record as the highest fuel price for 2016.
This new price is also higher compared to January this year, when RON95 was priced at RM1.85 per litre, RON97 (RM2.25) and diesel (RM1.60).
The lowest selling price this year was recorded in March.
Comparably, the price of diesel showed a difference of 48%.
RON95 increased 22% since March, while RON97 increased 18%.
The Federal Government determines the price of oil via the managed float system that takes into account the world market price of crude oil and the strength of the national currency for the previous month.
Survey on social media criticized the increased, which at the same time, sees a new increased price for cooking oil, not inclusive of 1kg oil packets.
