SHAH ALAM, NOV 29: The authorities should be focused on investigating the masterminds who caused the country almost RM60 billion in losses that have negatively impacted its economy and security rather than those involved in the BERSIH 5 gathering.
Sekinchan Assemblyman Ng Suee Lim said that the rakyat is waiting for the latest developments involving Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s brainchild, 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
“This is what the rakyat is waiting for as it has placed the country in jeopardy from various aspects, especially economically. It is one of the reasons the Ringgit has fallen in the worst every drop in the Asian region.
“This is true deceit compared to Maria Chin who has only organised a peaceful gathering. They are the real traitors, including the official known as ‘Malaysian Official 1 (MO1) named by the United States Department of Justice, and should be investigated by the police,” he told SelangorKini.
Ng also said that besides affecting the economy, the current situation could have an impact on national security when authorities are pressured or forced to provide special privileges to certain parties.
As many as 14 BERSIH 2.0 activists and Pakatan leaders have been detained by police following their involvement in the BERSIH 5 gathering held in Kuala Lumpur on November 19.
