Selangor sporting facilities to be upgraded

BY HAFIZAN TAIB
SHAH ALAM, NOV 10: Discussions between the State Government and related parties will proceed in the near future to improve sporting facilities in Selangor.
Youth, Sports, Culture and Entrepreneurial Development Exco Amirudin Shari said the State Government is planning the discussions after identifying that there are several shortcomings that need to be addressed.
“Taking full responsibility, I declare that among the shortcomings are the delivery system, namely how the project can be implemented soonest possible until October each year.
“As of October this year, we have only reached 60% of the project output, due to technical factors regarding the approval of the quantity list, and how approval of projects was achieved.
“I feel the need to discuss with implementing agencies, either the Land and District Office, local authorities or Community Service Centre,” he said during the wind-up of the State Budget 2017 in Selangor State Assembly on November 9.
Regarding the sporting facilities, Amirudin said that the State Government has allocated RM2.5 million, compared to RM6.6 million last year.
He said the allocation will be used to upgrade basic facilities such as the futsal and sepak takraw arenas.
