BY ERMIZI MUHAMAD
SHAH ALAM, NOV 9: The forthcoming opening session of the State Assembly will be more disabled-friendly via live-feed on Media Selangor through Selangor TV.
Communication Corporation Sdn Bhd (CCSB) Chief Editor Cecelia Alphonsus said that doing so was to assist and ease the physically-challenged, especially those with hearing disabilities, in understanding and following the State Assembly conference.
“We will begin this initiative at the opening session of the State Assembly next year, with a focus on the disabled.
“The purpose is to ensure that the disabled are not left behind in receiving information regarding the State Government,” she said.
She said this at a press conference with State Assembly Speaker Hannah Yeoh and Deputy Speaker Shafie Ngah at the State Assembly lobby.
Meanwhile, Yeoh also welcomed the initiative of the State Administration’s efforts  in ensuring every citizen receives necessary information.
In the same development, Selangor TV will provide a sign language interpreter visually during the State Assembly conference.
It can be viewed live at https://selangortv.my/ or on Youtube by searching for TV Selangor.
Meanwhile, State Assembly Speaker Hannah Yeoh welcomed the effort, in view that it is a positive development in the process of information dissemination in the State.
Besides Selangor TV, the online news portal and SelangorKini are media under Media Selangor, which is also the official media for the Selangor State Government.
