BY LIZAWATI MADFA
SHAH ALAM, NOV 30: A year after it was announced, the Smart Selangor Blueprint is ready to launch on December 6, in conjunction with Selangor Smart City International Conference 2016.
Deputy Director Smart Selangor Delivery Unit (SSDU), Dr Fahmi Ngah said that it is ahead of the 3 years schedule given by the State Government, together with an allocation of RM 10 million in the Selangor Budget last year.
“The State Government, in the Selangor Budget 2017, had allocated RM26 million for the initiatives in the Smart Selangor Blueprint.
“Actually, we have already started the initiatives this year, among which are the iClean application in Klang that facilitates garbage collection complaints made through smartphones.
“We are targeting a Smart State status in 2025,” he said

Since early 2016, SSDU actively seeks ideas and views from various stakeholders to support the preparation of Smart Selangor Blueprint.
Amongst which are discussion sessions with representatives of State agencies, utility companies and government-linked companies (GLC’s) through a series of organised ‘labs’.
Discussions covered all 12 domains including ‘Smart Governance’, ‘Smart Development’, ‘Smart Digital Infrastructure’, ‘Smart Waste Management’ and ‘Smart Education’.
The other domains are ‘Smart Energy’, ‘Smart Water Management’, ‘Smart Agro’, ‘Smart Transport and Mobility’, ‘Smart Safety and Security’, ‘Smart Disaster Management’ and ‘Smart Healthcare’.
In addition, a joint session of public representatives and an open day for the general public, were also held to get feedback on the Smart Selangor agenda.
Located at Saujana Hotel, the Smart Selangor Blueprint soft launch ceremony will be held on December 6 and will be attended by Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.
