13 victims ordered to be evacuated due to land erosion

GOMBAK, DEC 28: Thirteen victims from two families had to be relocated due to worsening land erosion near their houses in Kampung Sungai Rumput, Batu 12, Jalan Gombak.
Two houses on the hillside were found to be unsafe for occupation due to severe erosion especially during this rainy season.
Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Operation Movement Centre Chief, Samsol Maarif Saibani said they had to be evacuated upon the rescue team’s site inspection.
According to him, the two houses were on an 85-degree slope at a height of 30 metres on the hillside.
“Upon reaching the location, the rescue team found that one of the bathrooms had collapsed,” he said in a statement.
