ABIM Vice President: Penulisan Muda Kemanusiaan 2016 champion

SHAH ALAM, DEC 29: Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia (ABIM) Vice President Ahmad Fahmi Mohd Samsudin, who is also Global Peace Mission (GPM) Malaysia’s Chief Executive Officer, emerged champion in the Pertandingan Penulis Muda Kemanusiaan 2016, themed ‘The Power of Humanity.’
Ahmad Fahmi who is also a Malaysian Life Line for Syria (MLLFS) activist, won first place in the non-reporter category (Bahasa Melayu).
Prizes were presented by ICRC Regional Delegation Deputy Chief Claire Servoin at Wisma UOA, Kuala Lumpur.

The champion took home electrical items worth RM1,500 while the second-place winner got electrical items worth RM1,000.
The competition was launched on May 8, in conjunction with the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Society Day, organised by IRC and Malaysian National Press Club (NPC) in collaboration with Malaysian Red Crescent Society (PBSM).
The panel of judges, who consisted of academicians, practitioners and experts in the field of communication, international humanitarian law as well as humanitarian issues, had chosen six winners who showed good basic understanding of human issues and challenges.
In 2015, an article written by Malaysia Life Line for Syria (MLLFS) Chief Executive Officer Syahrir Azfar Saleh (Syahrir Azfar Al-Halabi) entitled ‘Allah, Suriah, Hurriyah Bas’ which appeared in Sinar Harian, won second place in the same competition.
