Acheh earthquake: MB offers condolences

SHAH ALAM, DEC 8: Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali expressed his condolences and sympathy towards victims of the earthquake that struck Acheh, Indonesia on December 7.
In his Facebook status, he also prays for the safety of Acheh residents, and strength and courage for Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in facing this incident.
“All citizens of Selangor and myself would like to express our deepest sympathy and condolences to the victims of the 6.5 magnitude earthquake in Acheh, Indonesia.
“We pray for the safety of the people in Acheh and hope that President Jokowi will have the strength and courage to face this trying test from Allah SWT,” he wrote.
Death toll following the powerful earthquake in Acheh rose to 97 victims compared to the 54 as reported earlier.
Meanwhile, 15 Malaysian students from the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Mara University of Technology (UiTM) Shah Alam who are now undergoing the Student Mobility Programme ‘Meaningful Academic Visit to Banda Aceh’ are reported safe.
