Investigate aircraft crashes: Avoid repeated tragedy

SHAH ALAM, DEC 22: KEADILAN Deputy President Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said thorough and transparent investigations must be conducted to ensure the incident does not happen again.

Azmin, who is also Dato’ Menteri Besar Selangor said that an investigation is required to identify the cause of the incident which killed the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) pilot at the Butterworth RMAF Base at 5.18 pm, on December 21.
“It was sad to receive the news yesterday regarding Major Kayamboo Chellam, a RMAF pilot who was killed in the aircraft crash, while trying to land at the RMAF Base on December 21.
“A thorough and transparent investigation must be done to identify the cause to avoid a repeat of the tragedy,” he said on Facebook.
Three others were injured in the incident, after the Beechcraft King Air 200T crashed while trying to land in Butterworth RMAF Base.
RMAF, in a statement said that the incident happened near the RMAF Missile Terminal Base.
At the same time, Mohamed Azmin expressed his condolences to families of the victims and hoped that the same does not recur.
“Condolences to families of the victims and RMAF personnel. We pray for the safety of the other three injured crew members,” he said.
