“It is a trend setter wherever the Smart Truck is located. I think the State Government for choosing MBPJ to pioneer the guidelines with the assistance of other local authorities,” he said during the Selangor Smart Truck Launching ceremony at Boulevard Square.
Smart Truck was launched by Youth Development, Sports, Culture and Entrepreneur Development Exco Amirudin Shari.
Mohd Azizi said MPBJ previously conducted research on mobile business concepts based on ‘City Of Sydney’, where there are two different activities, namely, Food Truck and Food Van.
“Food Truck and mobile vans are different because it has a mobile kitchen that allows cooking to be done on the truck.
“Most traders prefer food trucks ecause of the lower initial costs compared to opening a restaurant,” he said.
He also urged traders to consider various aspects like environment, location, the local population and not to cause problems to the community before the activity is licensed.
“We hope that with the Smart Truck guidelines, it will ensure the cleanliness of the areas is maintained.
“I believe that food truck operators in the entire state will welcome the guidelines and will obey them,” he said.
