MDSB consistent with Smart Selangor

SABAK BERNAM, DEC 23:  The Smart Selangor development agenda is Sabak Bernam District Council (MDSB) administration’s main pillar towards becoming a sustainable administrative council by 2017.
Yang Dipertua Azlina Azman said the agenda includes the implementation of green development as a key component of Smart State, in respond to the Smart State concept introduced by the State Government since 2015.
“We are optimistic in moving towards that direction by maintaining the basis at the local authority level, and we are already encouraging the community to cease the use of plastic and polystyrene by 2017.
“In fact, Sabak Bernam has been chosen as one of the polystyrene-free district councils for Smart Selangor City,” she said.
At the same time, she said that MDSB will utilise the current allocation for a Smart City development in Bagan Terap settlement, to strengthen the agenda in rural areas.

“MDSB is now actively building settlements based on the Smart Selangor concept, with continuous support from the State Government.
“With the RM2 million allocation given to MDSB, we are confident that a Smart City development in Bagan Terap can be successfully built,” she said.
Since 2015, the State Government has been committed in its long-term plans and initiatives to strengthen Smart Selangor.
Consisting of 12 main pillars, Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali is targeting 2025 as the year to turn Selangor as the first Smart State in Malaysia.
