Puskas Award: Mohd Faiz’s goal video attracts over 2 million viewers

SHAH ALAM, DEC 13: The video of Mohd Faiz Subri, who is listed as a finalist for the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) Puskas Award 2016, making his magical strike has now garnered over two million viewers on YouTube.
As of 10 am on December 13, the video which was first uploaded by FIFATV on November 21 continue to attract viewers with over 2,021,177 views worldwide.
The total views leaves behind the two other main contenders for the award, Jonath Marlone Azevedo da Silva from Brazil and the sole woman representative, Danisuka Rodriguez from Venezuela.
Local football fans still have the opportunity to vote for Faiz’s strike via FIFA’s official website, www.fifa.com, before the winner is announced on January 9 during the FIFA Football Award in Zurich, Switzerland.

The Puskas Award is named after legendary Hungarian striker, Ferenc Puskas, who won three European titles with the giant Spanish team, Real Madrid, from 1959 to 1966.
Since it was first introduced in 2009, the award aims to recognise the best goal of the year, and has been won by several world-class stars, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Neymar and James Rodriguez.
