Selangor 2017 to expect 7.4 million tourist arrivals

SHAH ALAM, DEC 20: Tourism Selangor is optimistic that tourist arrivals into Selangor will increase to 7.4 million in 2017 compared to the targeted 7.2 million tourists for 2016.
Selangor Tourism Corporate Communications Manager, Ahmad Nazri Tashriq Rahmat said Tourism Selangor has outlined several areas which will be focused on to achieve that target.
“Several areas in Selangor have taken the initiative to organise tourism and ‘visit-year for their districts’ campaigns, to promote the attractions in their districts.
“Among the local authorities who has organised their Visit District Year are Klang, Hulu Selangor and Selayang Districts,” he said to SelangorKini.
Nazri said that Tourism Selangor has taken the initiative to organise Klang Art Festival which will be held in September 2017, promoting heritage, artistic and cultural based products.
“In Hulu Selangor, we promote eco and nature based products.
“Recently, Tourism Selangor had organised the “#DiscoverSelangor Photo Hunt 2016”, which was held on September 17, 2016, which started at Selayang and ended in Hulu Selangor.
“That was one of the initiatives to promote Visit Hulu Selangor Year 2017 with over 300 participants consisting of the public, professional photographers, blog writers and media,” he said.
He added that Tourism Selangor is also working with Hulu Selangor District Council (MDHS) to organise the Wings of Kuala Kubu Baharu (KKB) 2017, an international scale birding event.
Besides that, he said that there are several latest tourism products in Selangor which will be featured such as Sky Mirror, Kuala Selangor (Eco Product), Bangi Wonderland, Bangi (Theme Park), Sekinchan 3D Art and Ocean Gallery and Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon, Sunway Lagoon (Theme Park).
