Smart Selangor Phase 2 focused on improvement

BY: ERMIZI MUHAMAD
SHAH ALAM, DEC 8: The Smart Selangor concept continues to be reinforced by improving existing programmes in Phase 2, in 2017.
Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) Chief Executive Officer Raja Shahreen Raja Othman said that a more comprehensive focus is given to create awareness about it in the general public.
He said that the second phase will focus on ten core components as outlined in the Smart Selangor Blue Print.
“The first phase was very successful with improvements on issues related to garbage collection, river cleaning, potholes and public cleanliness.
“The plan is to continue to move forward with the existing programmes to realise this concept,” he said to SelangorKini.

Raja Shareen, who is optimistic in ensuring Selangor becomes the first Smart State in Malaysia, is confident that it can be achieved by 2025.
He said that it can be achieved if everyone in the community play their roles in ensuring the targeted agenda is fulfilled.
“I am optimistic that we can achieve this agenda. However, that depends on cooperation from society because our biggest challenge now is limited understanding of this concept by society.
“The community needs to be made aware that this concept that we are building is very good and for the benefit and welfare of Selangor citizens.
“If the concept is widely understood, I am certain that Smart Selangor will be a success with involvement of all parties,” he said.
