Sultan orders old facilities in every hospital to be replaced immediately

SHAH ALAM, DEC 1: His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has ordered that old equipment and facilities in every hospital in the state to be replaced immediately.
In his decree, he said that this must be taken seriously to prevent unwanted incidences from happening to patients and employees in the hospitals.
“I would like to remind that every worn out or damaged health facility be replaced immediately, to avoid any unwanted incidences.
“I also want all hospitals to have an efficient fire prevention system that functions well,” he said during the Shah Alam Hospital officiation ceremony, here.

Her Royal Highness Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin was also present.
His Majesty was also accompanied by Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali and his wife, Datin Seri Shamsidar Tahrin.
Health Minister Dato’ Seri Dr S Subramaniam and Deputy Health Minister Dato’ Seri Dr Hilmi Yahaya were also present.
He wants all officers and staff to be prepared in facing any possible emergency situation.
He decreed that all projects related to citizens’ welfare must be completed on schedule.
“The agency responsible for a project must monitor its implementation in detail.
“This is to ensure the rakyat receive medical treatments required, and that they are unburdened by the constantly increasing cost of living,” he said.

The Shah Alam Hospital, which was fully completed in January, is a major specialist hospital with a capacity of 300 beds. It provides 14 different specialist services and is also a secondary hospital.
Facilities provided include 244 beds for First, Second and Third Class Wards. It has 28 beds in NICU, 7 in ICU, 14 in HDW and 7 in CCU.
In additional, there are 10 operating theatres, 20 delivery rooms and 20 haemodialysis machines.
