105 contractors receive MBSA 2017-2019 General Cleaning contracts

SHAH ALAM, JAN 6: A total of 105 contractors received Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) General Cleaning contract offer letters for 2017-2019, in a presentation ceremony recently.
Corporate and Public Relations Departmental Head Shahrin Ahmad said 15 contractors were also appointed for Hall Cleaning and one for Domestic Waste Garbage Collection. They received offer letters for the same session.
“MBSA will impose stricter actions on appointed contractors if they do not comply with the conditions set, and their contracts will be terminated immediately.

“Among actions that will be taken are issuing Notice to Correct (NTC), contract suspension, payment forfeiture and termination of contract,” he said.
The ceremony was officiated by Shah Alam Mayor Dato’ Ahmad Zaharin Mohd Saad and was also attended by MBSA department directors and council members.
Scope of work for public cleaning contractors are grass cutting and cleaning of streets, drains, sumps and gutters. All these must be performed twice a month.
The contractors must also collect bulk waste, garden waste and illegal waste three times a week; sweep the streets and clean residential streets at a frequency of twice a month. They also need to sweep and tidy the main, commercial and promenade streets every day.
 
The scope for Domestic Waste Garbage Collection on the other hand, consists of garbage collection at landed properties four times a week, including weekends; and garbage collection at premises such as non-detached, terrace and detached industrial premises and hotels for five times a week.
Meanwhile, the scope for Council Hall Cleaning consists of cleaning the interior, exterior and areas surrounding the hall, the toilets plus supplying cleaning materials as well as providing bin chambers.
