Azmin: PPBM manifesto in line with Reformasi

BY: NAZLI IBRAHIM
SHAH ALAM, JAN 15: The manifesto unveiled by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) Chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and its President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is seen as in line with the Reformasi movement championed by the People’s Justice Party (KEADILAN) dan Pakatan Harapan (PAKATAN).
KEADILAN Deputy President Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali was confident that the similarities in policies will ease cooperation between PAKATAN and PPBM.
“ Tan Sri’s (Muhyiddin Yassin) manifesto touches on discussions with PAKATAN and a large part of it is similar to KEADILAN’s policies, including limiting the executive powers of the Prime Minister and placing the Audit Department directly under the Parliament.

“This is part of the existing policy in Pakatan Rakyat and Pakatan Harapan,” he said while attending the PPBM launch at Malawati Closed Stadium.
He said the opposition coalition, if given the chance to takeover Putrajaya will not only undo the weaknesses of the BN Government, but implement a comprehensive reformation through agreed policies.
Dr Mahathir and Muhyiddin had earlier in their speeches unveiled the PPBM manifesto for discussion with PAKATAN in facing BN in the 14th General Elections.
Among the issues discussed include limiting the power of the Prime Minister, placing the Audit Department directly under the Parliament, banning BR1M as a political manifesto and allowing it to be run by public officials, giving freedom to the media as long as it does not threaten public harmony, abolishing the Goods and Services Tax and the recovery of the ringgit.
