Floods recede: Relocated flood victims in Kelantan and Terengganu reduced

KOTA BHARU, JAN 2: The improving weather is causing flood water to recede and number of relocated victims reducing.
The total flood victims in Kelantan dropped to 1,010 this morning.
All victims from 288 families were located in 29 evacuation centres in Pasir Mas, Machang, Kuala Krai, Tanah Merah and Jeli.
Based on the e-Banjir portal, Kuala Krai registered the highest number of victims which is 510 from 132 families, located in 11 evacuation centres.
In Tanah Merah, the total number of victims are 226 from 61 families who are now in eight evacuation centres.
Meanwhile, in Pasir Mas, there are a total of 159 victims from 63 families in seven evacuation centres, followed by Machang with 79 victims from eight families and Jeli’s number of victims dropped to 36 from 14 families.
 
KUALA TERENGGANU: Flood in this state has been receding for the past two days with 42 evacuation centres closed and over 3,000 victims allowed to go home.
Based on a latest report from the State Disaster Management Department Secretariat, there are only 1,022 victims left in the evacuation centres.
Hulu Terengganu District which recorded the highest number of flood victims at 2,000 is now down to 361 victims.
