PROGRESS to help graduates find jobs

SHAH ALAM, JAN 25: The State Government has announced a special programme for graduates, called Graduate Employability Enhancement Programme for Smart Selangor (PROGRESS) Batch 2, as a part of the “Merakyatkan Negeri Selangor” initiative and “Smart Selangor” campaign.
Education, Human Capital Development, Science, Technology and Innovation Exco Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said PROGRESS’ objectives are to raise graduates’ marketability and provide work-training opportunities with selected companies.
“90 participants from the first batch are now successfully employed, so PROGRESS is open for its second batch of intakes.
“This programme is open to graduates who are looking for jobs; and those who are seeking a programme to help increase their chances of getting a job are encouraged to apply for this programme,” he said in a statement.

It is understood that the programme is divided into two parts, namely, classroom training for a month (eight soft skills) and apprentice programme for six months with selected companies, inclusive of allowance.
The programme is opened to all Selangor-born children, as well as residents of over five years with a Degree and aged below 27.
The programme will be conducted for 29 days, from February 19 till March 19.
