SHAH ALAM, JAN 11: The Smart Selangor Farm Programme continues to be implemented as the State Government’s commitment to encourage domestic agricultural production.
Infrastructure, Public Amenities, Agricultural Modernisation and Agro-Based Industries Exco Zaidy Abdul Talib said the programme emphasizes the concept of using sophisticated technology to generate maximum agricultural production.
“For now, three areas have been identified to be suitable and have potential for consistent development.
“The programme focuses on the concept of using sophisticated technology for fertigation and much more.
“We hope the project is successful and can help more farmers and also the community by generating income and creating jobs for citizens,” he said to SelangorKini.
Zaidy said the farm development project also targets involvement from young entrepreneur farmers below 40 years of age.
However, he said that it would be 30% of the programme participation quota.
“This farming development involves a considerable size of land, exceeding 5 acres and is also participated by farmers who have joint the Agro Generasi Muda Selangor (AGROGEMS),” he said.
