BENTONG, FEB 4: Crossing state borders, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali took the opportunity to mingle with Pahang locals in conjunction with the Tea with Dato’ Menteri Besar programme this afternoon.
The programme is focused on Dato’ Menteri Besar’s initiative to get closer to Pahang locals to understand and listen to local issues himself.
Mohamad Azmin, resplendent in Baju Melayu, earlier arrived that the Desa Damai KEADILAN Branch Office at 2.30 pm with his Private Secretary Suhaimi Shafiei.
The leadership who were in attendance included Ketua Sekretariat Pakatan Harapan Malaysia Secretariat Chief Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah, KEADILAN Pahang Chairman Datuk Abdul Rahman and DAP Pahang Chairman Liong Nga Nga.
Mohamed Azmin in his speech said he kept an open mind and would continue to approach the rakyat even though there were political differences.
“We keep an open mind and use the political landscape in a mature manner to bring forth political agendas without mudslinging.
“The main thing is we bring values and dignity, in addition to high integrity in our reform agenda that demands for national change.
“My intention to be close to the rakyat to bring change is due to the fact that our country is in a really bad situation, something that has never occurred in the history of our country,” he said.
The Bentong Parliamentary constituency was won by Barisan Nasional candidate, Datuk Liow Tong Lai, who was then MCA Deputy President with a majority of 370 votes.
