Azmin: Jamal and Nor Omar also receive Selangor’s free water

BY: ERMIZI MUHAMAD
BENTONG, FEB 5: The benefits of the free water programme are not limited to those who support the State Government and its policies.
Instead, Selangor Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said the state government practises equality when channeling benefits to the rakyat in the state.
“When you use water in Selangor, at the end of the bill you might get a big zero because it has already been paid by the Selangor Government.
“We do not care if you are an Umno supporter or not. Khir Toyo, Noh Omar and Jamal also receive free water. There’s no need to pay for water in Selangor,” he said.
Even then, said Mohamed Azmin, there exists individuals who practise dirty political culture especially among Umno leaders who purposely politicise these policies for their own benefit.
He was referring to the latest antics of Sungai Besar Umno Division leader, Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos.
“We need not encourage Jamal. Maybe he doesn’t bathe. The state government has the free water scheme, but he comes to my office asking for a bath.
“That’s just crazy,” Azmin said during his speech at a tea gathering with Bentong locals at Desa Damai KEADILAN Branch Office yesterday.
The state government has been implementing a scheme providing 20 cubic metres of free water to Selangor citizens since 2008.
For 2017, as much as RM183.2 million has been allocated for the programme.
