BY: ERMIZI MUHAMAD
SHAH ALAM, FEB 14: The West Coast Expressway’s (WCE) main contractor must compensate for the losses incurred by traders in Sekinchan who are affected by the road widening near their business premises.
Sekinchan State Assemblyman, Ng Suee Lim said, he was informed by the traders in the area that they suffered losses due to the activity.
“Although the ongoing project involves road widening, I was also made to understand that the contractor is also building an overhead bridge in front of Sekinchan Police Station, causing nearby businesses to close their premises and incur losses.
“I call on the appointed contractor to pay some attention to the affected premises and if possible I would advise to give them some compensation,” he said to SelangorKini.
It was made to understand, among the business premises most affected are the Sekinchan Harbour View Hotel and Murni Arcade.

Construction had started in 2014 consisting 11 phases and it is now in the fifth phase involving areas in Selangor, while phase 8 to 11 will reach up to Perak.
Meanwhile in Selangor, WCE will connect main towns such as Banting, Shah Alam, Kuala Selangor, Tanjung Karang, Sekinchan and Sabak Bernam.
