Ensure Kuala Selangor is free from illegal activities

BY: LIZAWATI MADFA
KUALA SELANGOR, FEB 2: Stern action will be taken against premises found to have misused the license issued by Kuala Selangor District Council (MDKS) to conduct illegal activities.
MDKS Yang Dipertua (YDP), Mohd Azhar Mohamed Ali said, council members must also monitor their respective areas to ensure Kuala Selangor is free from being laden with massage parlours, cyber-cafes and karaoke centres.
He said that is because these activities only invite social problems among the communities.
“We do not want Kuala Selangor to be known for such things, so MDKS will continue to monitor.
“For example, cyber-cafes are traditionally opened in student-focused areas but if there are too many in the villages, then we must be concerned if there are other activities involved such as gambling.

“If proven guilty and against the law, we will take action,” he said.
He said that after the MDKS YDP Swearing-in Ceremony yesterday in his office, witnessed by Orang Besar Daerah Kuala Selangor, Datuk Mohamad Yaacob Datuk Ismail, Council members and MDKS senior management.
Mohd Azhar replaced Noraini Roslan who assumed the same position in the Hulu Selangor District Council (MDHS).
Previously, he served as Kuala Langat District Council (MDKL) YDP for five years.
