SHAH ALAM, FEB 20: The Halal Technical Officer trained by Halal International Selangor (HIS) can create a business opportunity in that sector besides paving the way for the establishment of a global market community.
Central Spectrum Sdn Bhd (CSSB) Chief Executive Officer, Mahmud Abbas said that HIS, owned by Aspire Flagship Sdn Bhd, has now started one of its ten Halal Technical Competent Person (HTCP) programmes, through its human capital development scheme.
He said, HIS is committed to develop human capitals with expertise and knowledge on Halal Toyyiban to ensure its procedures can be adapted in businesses and the industries.
“A three-day Train The Trainer (TTT) workshop will be held to produce experts as HTCP trainers.
“The TTT programme will provide and prepare participants with basic information as well as requirements in the halal industry,” he said during the programme launch recently.

Also present during the ceremony was the Islamic Religious Affairs, Malay Customs & Heritage, Rural & Traditional Villages Development Exco, Dato’ Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi.
Mahmud also believes that TTT will add value to the trainers, and the knowledge can subsequently be shared or delivered to the domestic and international Halal activists.
“We also believe that HIS can provide another platform for the Malaysian Halal Trade Industry, particularly in the field of real-estate, logistic warranties, delivery chain, market development and capacity,” he said.
Before this, HIS and CSSB had signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with universities in United Kingdom, China, South Korea and Taiwan for collaboration with HTCP.
HTCP is a halal warranty training scheme to expand access into that market.
