Over 1,000 attend Selangor Sementa Constituency Health Ride

KLANG, FEB 19: Over 1,000 riders participated in the Selangor Sementa Constituency Health Ride 2017 to promote healthy activities.
The ride began around 8 am at the Dewan Orang Ramai Taman Sri Kerayong.
Health, Welfare, Women and Family Development Exco Dr Daroyah Alwi said that the programme was aimed at encouraging a healthy lifestyle among the public.
She said that participants could also get to know each other better in the midst of the daily bustle.

“This activity can also expand their social network through friendships made with others who share similar interests,” she said at the officiating ceremony.
Also joining the ride was Klang Municipal Council (MPK) Secretary Adi Faizal Ahmad Tarmizi.
Daroyah said the health ride was held at Sementa constituency to attract participants to enjoy the beauty of the kampong atmosphere.
“Participants will go through four villages in the constituency, namely Kampung Sementa, Perepat, Kapar, Tok Muda dan Serdang.

“Selangor has many beautiful places that have the potential to be tourist attractions, and this kampung is no exception,” she said.
Besides the cycling event, 100 Armed Forces members held a gotong-royong to clean up the area around the hall and mosque.
At the same time, around 100 Sementa constituency residents received Food Stamp aid.
