Selangor B.E.S.T improves Selangor education quality

SHAH ALAM, FEB 18: Van Mobile Library–Selangor B.E.ST (Bringing Excellence Into Society) is a State Government effort to improve the quality of education and training in line with the ‘Membangun Smart Selangor Yang Peduli’ theme.
Education, Human Capital Development, Science, Technology and Innovation Exco Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said the state government, through the Selangor Public Library Corporation (PPAS), has since 2008 upgraded and redeveloped 45 public libraries with the concept of ‘rebranding’ and makeover’.
He said this brings the total libraries managed by PPAS currently to 102 libraries.
“Before Selangor B.E.S.T, PPAS also has a few mobile libraries using various vehicles such as trailers, buses and vans.
“In line with technological changes, these have been improved to ensure good and quality service to the rakyat,” he said in a text red by PPAS director, Mastura Muhamad.
Beginning operations on March 1, Selangor B.E.S.T is the smart partnership between Education, Human Capital Development, Science, Technology and Innovation Committee; Exco Housing, Building Management and Urban Living Committee; Selangor Land and Housing Board and PPAS.
There are four Selangor B.E.S.T prepared to tour 1,346 low cost housing schemes involving 220,086 units with 1.1 million residents.
Nik Nazmi said apart from the four units, the state government has added three other units to tour the entire state.
“This makes the total of mobile vans seven.
“Selangor B.E.S.T is equipped with various facilities for all ages, whether it’s collection materials offered, infrastructure and infostructure,” he said.
