Selangor B.E.S.T to tour 35 locations beginning March 1

SHAH ALAM, FEB 18: Mobile library, Selangor B.E.ST (Bringing Excellence Into Society) will tour to 35 locations in three municipalities beginning March 1.
Education, Human Capital Development, Science, Technology and Innovation Exco Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said as a start the municipalities involved are Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) with 15 locations, Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) and Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ), with 10 locations each.
He said that Selangor B.E.S.T would be at each location for two hours.
“Each van contains between 1,000 and 1,400 items including 15 copies of magazines and books suitable for all age groups.

“All collections offered are from the ‘best seller’ category, current and the best in the market,” he said through a speech read by the Selangor Public Library Corporation director, Mastura Muhamad.
For now, as many as four Selangor B.E.S.T are prepared and will operate five days a week, every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
Nik Nazmi said the state government is also considering increasing the number of Selangor B.E.S.T if the response and demand from the public is encouraging.
“We hope this big investment will bring good returns especially from the number of members, loans and returns of material.
“Let us hope that this initiative will bring benefits to all and realise the dream of nurturing a knowledgable society in Selangor,” he said.
