Applications to enter MITS increase by 12.97%

SEPANG, MAR 7: Application to enter Maahad Integrasi Tahfiz Selangor (MITS) for the 2017 session has increased by 12.97% as a result of the awareness in the younger people on the importance of Islamic education.
The Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) Director, Dato’ Harus Kasim said, based on the MITS’s enrolments this year, there is an increase on 12.97% equivalent to 970 students.
“Compared to last year with an intake of 860 students.
“This shows that the younger generation today is starting to give more attention to religious studies and they have a desire to deepen their knowledge in this field without neglecting the other fields of academic,” he said.
He said that during the Tilawah dan Menghafaz Al-Quran launching ceremony at Raja Haji Fisabilillah Mosque in Cyberjaya last night.
He added that so far, four MITS have been built in four districts which are Kuala Langat, Klang, Sabak Bernam and Sepang.
It was made to understand that MITS had received 2,050 applications last year, however only 800 students were interviewed and 230 received offers.
