MBSA offers 50% discount on fines

SHAH ALAM, MAR 2: The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) will implement the Penalty Discount Campaign Series 1/2017 for up to 50% to encourage offenders (OKK) to settle their backlogs.
MBSA Corporate and Public Relations Head, Shahrin Ahmad said, the campaign will start from March 1 to 31, to help and encourage OKK to settle their outstanding fines before stern action is taken.
“The campaign also consists of discounts for offenses under the MBSA Road Transport Order 2007 which include not displaying parking coupons accordingly and parking at unauthorised spots.
“For the record, MBSA is cooperating with Road Transport Department (JPJ) to blacklist offenders who fail to settle their fines by introducing the I-Blacklist system.
“Hence the public is urged to expedite paying their fines before a more drastic action is taken,” he said in the statement.
Among the fines which are eligible for the discounts are those under the Haircut By-laws 1983, Park By-laws (MBSA) 2005, Vandalism By-laws (MBSA) 2005, Food Establishemnt By-laws (MBSA) 2007 and Food Handling By-laws (MBSA) 2007.
Additionally, offenses under Advertising By-laws (MBSA) 2007, Hawkers By-laws (MBSA) 2007, Road Transport By-laws (MBSA) 2007 and Market By-laws (MBSA) 2007 are also eligible for the discounts.
Shahrin said, the public can make payments at the Main Counter, Wisma MBSA, Persiaran Perbandaran, Seksyen 14, Shah Alam as well as at the Sungai Buloh, Kota Kemuning and Setia Alam Branch Offices.
MBSA also provides ‘Shah Alam On Wheels’ (SAOW) Mobile Office, every Saturday at the specified time, location and date.
