MDSB first local authority to organise Women’s Day Celebration

SABAK BERNAM, MAR 13: More than 1,000 people from this district visited the Sabak Bernam District International Women’s Day Carnival which was held for two nights and three days recently.
Sabak Bernam District Council (MDSB) Secretary, Awaluddin Zakaria said they are the first local authority to organise such celebration in Selangor.
He said, this is to appreciate and celebrate women who always play an important role to promote progress and welfare in the community.

“In conjunction with this carnival, we are giving the opportunity to over 40 businesswomen to open-up stalls to supplement their income.
“MDSB always strives to improve the economy of local women to support their families,” he said.
He said that in his address during the Official Closing Ceremony at Jalan Stadium yesterday.
The carnival which started from March 10 to 12 was officiated by the Health, Welfare, Women and Family Development Exco, Dr Daroyah Alwi.
Besides commercial activities and performances, competitions like netball, Teh Tarik Queen and Aerobikthon were also organised.
