Selangor strengthen ties with Taiwan

SHAH ALAM, MAR 9: The State Government will be conducting a visit to Taiwan next month to increase cooperation and enhance bilateral ties between Taiwan and Selangor.
Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said he intends to develop cooperation in the field of research and technology between universities and educational institutions.
He said, Selangor is also interested to learn from Taiwan’s experience in technical and vocational education as well as from its expertise in ‘Smart Industries’.

“Among others, we are reinforcing our investment strategy by encouraging the halal industry through the setting-up of Selangor International Halal Council, in fact, we are the first in the world to create the Halalan Toyiban eco-system.
“Through this programme, participants get the opportunity to expand the halal industry through a continuous learning process and technological advancement,” he said when receiving the delegation from Taiwan at the Bangunan Setiausaha Kerajaan Negeri (SUK) yesterday.
Mohamed Azmin said the State Government is also actively promoting the ecosystems for aerospace, biotechnology and life-science industries in Selangor.
“We absolutely welcome companies in the high-tech sectors to create a foothold in Selangor.
“We always want a win-win situation where you get to maximise your returns while our citizens and local economy benefit from job opportunities, technological exchange as well as increase in Gross Domestic Product (GDP),” he said.
