Sultan of Selangor reminds Assemblymen to maintain integrity

SHAH ALAM, MAR 27: His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah reminded State Assemblymen to maintain the principles of integrity, transparency and good governance as well as credibility in the institution as the basis of economy in the state.
He said, economic fundamentals is no more focused merely on balance of payments and economic figures.
“I am very glad that the principles which I mentioned earlier underlies the State Government’s administration and inject confidence in investors to maintain Selangor as an investment destination,” he said at the 13th Selangor State Assembly Fifth Term Opening Ceremony today.

Earlier, Malaysian Investment Development Authority’s (MIDA) Report ending December 31, 2016, shows that Selangor recorded an investment of RM7.88 billion with 50 percent if it being controlled by local investor.
Following that he wants that huge investment to be able to create value to directly benefit the citizens.
According to His Majesty, the investment created 16,427 job opportunities and 242 manufacturing projects which are the highest numbers recorded in Malaysia.
He is also confident that Invest Selangor will continue to maintain its excellence and progress, embracing Industry 4.0 which involves progress in digital fabrication technologies.
“Invest Selangor must guarantee positive results in the five set clusters which are electric and electronics, life sciences, food and beverages, transport equipment and machinery and equipment.
“Invest Selangor must continue working with MIDA and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) to guarantee Selangor’s position as the nation’s economic powerhouse,” he said.
