The Federal Government must help armed forces veterans

KUALA LUMPUR, MAR 9: The Federal Government must introduce more training programmes to help the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) veterans particularly those with no pension.

Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said we must appreciate their services and sacrifices to the nation considering 260,000 out of the 370,000 veterans do not receive pension.
“To protect them, I hope the Federal Government can immediately come up and provide training programmes as well as protect their welfares as they do not get pension benefits.
“They have given their services and sacrifices to protect the nation’s sovereignty and security,” he said.
Azmin who is also Gombak Member of Parliament said that during the Menjunjung Kasih Titah Seri Paduka Yang Dipertuan Agong discourse session at the Dewan Rakyat today.
The State Government has allocated RM1 million to the ATM Warriors Fund and ATM Social and Welfare Programmes.
