Discipline and commitment behind excellent award recipients

SHAH ALAM, APR 11: Discipline and commitment are among the aspects emphasized by Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) employees in carrying out their duties, qualifying them to receive the Excellent Service Award (APC) 2016.
Assessment Assistant, Bahar Dollah, 59, said, throughout his tenure with MBSA, he has always given complete focus on his tasks to achieve the targeted quality.
“The most important thing is relationship with colleagues that must be well maintained as it will create a problem-free work environment.
“Emphasize must be given on discipline to excel besides, if there any problems (if there are) it should be put aside while carrying out our duties,” he said happily to the media.
Bahar is one of the 129 MBSA employees who received the APC2016 from the State Secretary, Dato’ Mohd Amin Ahmad Ahya at MBSA Auditorium yesterday.
He has worked with Petaling Jaya Municipal Council (MPPJ) before joining MBSA and this is the fourth time he is receiving that award.
Assistant Enforcement Officer, Ramli Majid, 56, said, every task is a responsibility for the employee to perform at his best.
“We must follow orders to provide service to the community as expected.
“Discipline is in fact important in order to do a good job which can be emulated,” he said, touched by the award received for the first time.
Ramli is now on duty in the MBSA Enforcement Department after having his left leg amputated in 2014 due to diabetes, which he has been suffering from for 14 years, however he still admitted to occasionally miss doing field-work.
He joined MBSA since 2001 following his service in the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM).
Also present in the ceremony was Orang Besar Daerah Petaling, Dato’ Emran Kadir; Shah Alam Mayor, Dato’ Ahmad Zaharin Mohd Saad; Shah Alam Deputy Mayor, Shukri Mohamad Hamin and other guests.
APC is a yearly event organised by MBSA to recognize the services and commitments given by employees who have shown impressive performance throughout the year, besides elevating the role of local authorities in providing the best services to the community in particular Shah Alam residents.
Recipients are assessed on their responsibility, integrity, compliance to work regulations, performance level, ability to their job well and their effort and commitment in the tasks given to them.
Each recipient was awarded with RM1,000, Excellent Service certificate, RM400 BSN Premium Savings Certificate and the opportunities and priorities for work advancement.
