Tun M predicts BN will fall, Bloomberg reported

SHAH ALAM, APR 12: The International News Agency, Bloomberg reported that Former Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has predicted that Barisan Nasional’s reign will cease after the coming general election.
The Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) Chairman, in an interview with BLOOMBERG, said that there is a strong sentiment about this from the grassroots showing support from majority of the rakyat.
The report stated that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is expected to dissolve Parliament to hold an election this year, although Barisan Nasional’s mandate ends next year in May.
“If you talk to anyone today, nodoby will have anything good to say about the government, especially about Najib,” said Tun Dr Mahathir.
He admitted that BN may become stronger due to Pakatan Harapan’s failure to convince PAS to join the opposition coalition.
According to him, anyone contesting outside the coalition is viewed as “najib’s supporters, BN’s supporters”.
“This is because, votes for the coalition (opposition) will be reduced, splitting the votes, which will certainly help Najib to win,” he said.
