Appreciate State Government’s role in advocating Islam

SHAH ALAM, MAY 30: The Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS) appreciates Selangor Government’s huge contribution for Islamic development in the state.
MAIS Chairman, Dato’ Setia Mohamad Adzib Mohd Isa said he also appreciates the help given by every party in terms of energy and money to make the Program Ihya Ramadan 1438 Hijrah a success.
“A special thank you is due to the State Government who contributed a huge sum of money, a total of RM810,200 which among others are to contribute to nazir and chairmen of surau.
“The State Government also donated RM1.827 million to mosques and surau,” he said in his speech during the Breaking Fast Ceremony with His Royal Highness the Selangor Sultan with the people at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque yesterday.
Besides that, the State Government also donated RM8.32 million for utilities to nine district mosques and five royal mosques as well as primary religious schools (SRA) and Integrated Religious Primary Schools (SRAI).
“RM75.9 million have been allocated for KAFA teachers’ allowances, RM4 million for imams’ allowances, RM406,480 for Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) scholarships and RM421,400 for ramadan programmes,” he said.
