Focus on fishermen’s welfare, Selangor Sultan visits Bagan Sekinchan Jetty

SEKINCHAN, MAY 22: His Royal Highness the Selangor Sultan, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah is concerned on the welfare of all fishermen in the state.
He expressed his commitment for their welfare through his official visit to the Bagan Nelayan Jetty.
Accompanied by Tengku Permaisuri, Tengku Norashikin, Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali and his wife Datin Seri Shamshida Taharin, together with a delegation of State leaders, the visit was a part of his official visit to Sekinchan today.

The focus is to approach rural communities and directly observe all aspects of welfare and industrial requirements in Sekinchan.
At the same, the Bagan Nelayan Jetty in Sekinchan is the fishery resources centre particularly for Sabak Bernam.
It was made to understand that the jetty has the potential to become an agro-tourism location if consistently developed at a national level.
The State Government has allocated RM3.1 million in financial aid for repair and upgrading of jetties in the state.
From of that amount, there was an allocation for gradual jetty improvements to boost the fishery economy in the state.
