HIS expands cooperation to Taiwan, develops halal industry

SHAH ALAM, MAY 15: The ‘Southbound New Policy’ plays an important role in introducing trading of halal products between Malaysia and Taiwan.
Halal International Selangor (HIS) is a statement said it is working together with National University Tainan to set-up a Halal Industrial Centre in the university.
It is an initiative by Tainan City Industrial Development and Investment Promotion Committee, according to the statement.
“The centre will introduce the Halal Technical Competent Person (HTCP) programme to increase human resource competency for Global Halalan Toyyiban Trade and Industry (GHTTI).
“Recognising the importance of GHTTI, HIS aims to ulitise the market capacity to benefit more organisations.
“It must be implemented based on the principles of halal global trading which are trust, integrity, safety and security,” it said.
HIS said the cooperation among others offers business consultation and human resource development.
“It also aims to develop the halal industry and halal tourism industry besides cooperation between Taiwan and Malaysia,” it said.
Last April 24 to 28, HIS joined the delegation led by Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali to Kaohsiung, Tainan and Taipei in Taiwan.
The delegation was also joined by Investment, Small & Medium Industries, Trade and Transport Exco, Dato’ Teng Chang Khim, Islamic Religious Affairs, Malay Customs & Heritage, Rural & Traditional Villages Development Exco, Dato’ Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi and Central Spectrum Chief Executive Officer, Mahmud Abbas.
